Sod Installation

Seed asks you to wait a season and hope. Sod gives you a real lawn the day we finish. We install sod for homes around Chattanooga and Northwest Georgia, from bare dirt behind a new build to a front yard that just never filled in. Most of the work happens before the first roll comes off the pallet: we clear what's there, grade the ground so water runs off the right way, and prep the soil so the roots have something to grab.

We walk the yard with you, measure it, and talk through grass type and any problem spots, then give you a price.

We clear out the old grass, weeds and debris with our own equipment and haul it off.

We grade the yard so water drains away from the house, then work the soil so the roots can take hold.

We lay the rolls tight with staggered seams, cut clean edges along beds and walks, and go over watering with you before we leave.

What kind of sod do you install?

We install Bermuda sod, which handles our summers well and fills in thick. If your yard has a lot of shade or you have something else in mind, tell us at the estimate and we'll talk through what makes sense for that spot.

Do you prep the ground first?

Yes, and it's the part we spend the most time on. We clear the old grass and debris, grade so water runs away from the house, and work the soil before any sod goes down. Laying sod on bad ground is how you end up with a lumpy lawn that struggles.

How soon can we use the lawn?

Light foot traffic is fine within a few days. Give it a few weeks of regular watering before kids and dogs are running on it every day, so the roots can knit into the soil. We'll walk you through a watering schedule before we leave.
