Demo day is one of our favorite parts of the process - and this Ringgold job is a great example of why. The old block wall had run its course. Weathered, shifting, and honestly just not doing the job it was built to do anymore. Before anything new can go in, the old stuff has to come out clean.

Here's what we were working with: a deteriorating block wall running along the front of the home, overgrown planting beds, and a slope that needed proper structure to hold everything in place long-term. You can't just stack something new on top of a failing base. We brought in the skid steer, cleared the old material, and got the ground prepped the right way.

The plan once demo wraps up is a full boulder wall - natural stone that actually fits the character of this home and holds the hillside the way it should. We'll be adding new plantings throughout the bed space too, so the whole front area gets a fresh start from the ground up.

This is the kind of work where doing the demo right matters just as much as the build itself. Rushing through it or cutting corners on removal sets the whole project up to fail down the road. We don't skip steps.

Retaining walls aren't just about looks - they're doing real structural work. When one starts to fail, the soil behind it isn't far behind. Getting ahead of that with a proper boulder wall and fresh landscape installation is the move, and that's exactly what this Ringgold homeowner is getting.
