Some backyards just get away from people. Weeds take over, overgrown shrubs spread into the lawn, and before long the whole space feels unusable. That's exactly what we were working with here - a backyard that had gone well past the point of a simple mow and trim.
The first step was a full property clean-up. Everything overgrown along the fence line had to come out. We're talking dense, tangled growth that had completely taken over what should have been clean planting beds. Full removal, down to the ground, so we had a fresh slate to work with.
From there, we laid fresh sod across the lawn area. That patchy, thin grass wasn't worth trying to save - new sod gave us a consistent, healthy base to work with. The difference between tired, struggling turf and a freshly installed lawn is hard to overstate. It changes the entire feel of the space.
The mulch beds are what really pull it together. Clean edges, fresh dark mulch, and neatly spaced shrubs along the fence line give the yard a finished, intentional look. The tree ring in the center of the lawn is a nice touch too - it ties the whole layout together and keeps things looking sharp.
This is what a proper property clean-up and sod installation can do for a backyard that's been neglected. The bones were always there. It just needed the right work to bring it back.
